Musky fishing Courses.

On the water instruction for beginners and intermediates anglers

  • Over the seasons one thing I've noticed is that many beginner musky men and women book me to take them fishing with their ultimate goal to get out and catch that once in a lifetime musky. This is great a I do everything possible fulfill their goals. But one thing that seems to be consistent is that many beginner and intermediate musky anglers lack the necessary skills to hook, land and play out that giant musky once their chance actually comes.  This is why I designed two very specific courses to teach even the most inexperienced and intermediate anglers how to successfully learn and master the art of Musky fishing.

  • Beginners Musky Fishing Course - 2 day course (8 hours per day)

For the beginner this is a very easy to understand course which takes you from the basics of casting to playing out the fish and releasing it properly. This course takes place on the water of a selected lake and also includes many hours of fishing and mastering each technique. In this course you will learn the following:

1. Basic casting with a bait cast real and rod.

2. Basic figures 8 techniques

3. Tackle and Baits. Learn how to effectively fish with Jerk Baits, Glide baits, Crank baits,   Bucktails, and spinner baits.

4. Various types of structure and why they attract and hold muskies.

5. How & where to find muskies on new lakes and lakes in you area.

6. How to effectively troll and bait presentation techniques.

7. Throw back presentations

Intermediates Musky Fishing Course - 2 day course (10 hours per day)

For many anglers that have already fished for muskies a few times or even for many years you're probably saying to yourself "I don't need a course to teach me how to fish". Well, for some of you that maybe the case but for many of my previous clients who thought the same way it didn't take more then one cast or one lost fish to show them and me that they had allot more to learn. It was not unusual to see veteran anglers that could not even cast properly or when that giant musky followed in their lure the fish was lost because of a simple or easy to learn technique that they weren't even aware of. This course is designed to teach you want you don't know and how to perfect what you do know so when that 40lb, 50lb or even 60lb pound musky comes following you'll be ready for her. This course takes place on the water of a selected lake and also includes many hours of fishing and mastering each technique. In this course you will learn the following:

1. How to cast like a pro.

2. Advanced figures 8 techniques - Way beyond the basics. Learn when you should and shouldn't figure 8 a following musky.

3. Advanced Tackle and Baits. How and when to effectively fish with Jerk Baits, Glide baits, Crank baits, Bucktails, and spinner baits with some added twists.

4. Various types of structure and why they attract and hold muskies.

5. Where have all the fish gone? How to change things up and find the fish when they're not where they should be.

6. Advanced techniques for trolling humps, weed edges, walls and open water bait fish. Planner Board trolling techniques.

7. Boat control and boat positioning. How and where you should position the boat to catch more fish and save trolling motor battery life.

8. Mix it up- Learn how to mix your day up with casting and trolling to increase your odds. When and where to cast and when and where to troll.

9. How to use your electronics to put you onto more fish.

10. Landing and Releasing techniques.

11. Course summary provided at the end of the course.
